Russia is on the rise this year in the trance world, helped by the likes of artists like Marcus Schossow and Artem Stolyarov, better known as Arty or Alpha 9, a twenty year-old talent from the small city of Engels. He has made remarkable progress on the international dance scene in the past year; from his tracks Come Home and Hope being featured on Ferry Corsten’s Compilation Once Upon a Night Vol. 1 to having another 2 tracks, Rush and The Wonder featured on the legendary Anjunabeats Vol. 8. We also can’t forget the remixes for Above & Beyond, Reverse, and Cosmic Gate. If you’re still somehow not impressed, his latest production, Twilight Tonight, was named Tune Of the Week on A State of Trance, as well as being the Web Vote Winner on Trance Around The World. It seems this man is unstoppable!
I’d first like to talk about Arty’s Club Mix of Hope, as it has become one my favorite progressive tracks of the year. It has a tighter groove and is a bit punchier than the original; the main feature is this euphoric organ-like synth that makes you feel as if you were on air. It is definitely one of my favorites of his tracks.
Twilight Tonight, Arty’s Enhanced Progressive release, is the other track I decided to include with this post. Arty’s “remode” of this track is soothing yet energized–quite an “Arty-ism”–and features his signature chords and his penchant for soaring lead synths.
It seems that 2010 is The Year for Arty, and I am happy to be on this bandwagon. Let me know what you think of the young prodigy!
